A vision to make
a significant positive impact in the world
The Sequoia Impact Program exists to leverage our team’s unique abilities and mobilize the Sequoia network to improve our local and global communities. We do this by providing healthcare and educational support to empower those in need.
The Sequoia Impact Fund
The Sequoia Impact Fund is a charitable giving account that advances our philanthropic efforts in our local and global communities. In 2020, Sequoia has made financial grants to our non-profit partners to alleviate food insecurity, address mental health challenges, support racial justice, help people gain access to economic opportunity and uplift the most vulnerable people in our communities. Thank you for joining us to serve this important mission.
Sequoia Coronavirus Response Fund
In response to the Coronavirus pandemic, Sequoia is making a dollar-for-dollar match up to $250K to the Sequoia Coronavirus Response Fund. All donations are tax-deductible and will go to the non-profit organizations best equipped to respond to those in need. Together, we can make a meaningful positive impact.

Donations to Sequoia Coronavirus Response Fund will support efforts to alleviate food insecurity, provide healthcare and support front line workers.
Funds will be directed to the following local, national and global organizations:
Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF) is leading the Bay Area regional response to this pandemic. Funds going to SVCF will go to vetted local organizations across ten Bay Area counties to support immediate efforts to help those in our community most affected by the disease and its impact, including aid to individuals, nonprofits and small businesses.
Food banks in the San Francisco Bay Area, NYC, and Phoenix.
Additional local non-profits making an impact. Our Sequoia Impact Team will continue to evaluate and support non-profits that help underserved and vulnerable communities battling the effects of COVID-19.
Parikrma Humanity Foundation Provides meals and essentials to students and their families from over 99 slums from across Bangalore city. With school closed and parents who have lost jobs due to COVID-19, most of these families have no access to the food and essentials they received when schools were open.
The CDC Foundation donations are funding medical supplies, increasing lab capacity, deploying emergency staffing to U.S. public health agencies, providing support to vulnerable communities, addressing health communication needs, boosting clinical research to improve health outcomes, building capacity and infrastructure for national and global response efforts and much more.
COVID-19 Response Fund is raising funds to support the World Health Organization in their efforts to prevent, detect and respond to the pandemic, and develop vaccines, tests and treatments.
Global Giving, recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), is a crowdfunding community that quickly delivers funds to vetted community-led organizations that are best-suited to respond to the unique needs of their community.
The Sequoia Impact Fund is a Corporate Advised Fund at Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF), a 501(c)(3) public charity registered in the United States, EIN# 20-5205488. Contributions are processed by SVCF and are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. You’ll receive a donation confirmation receipt for tax purposes. Additionally, SVCF will send a formal acknowledgment letter with tax-deductible language to those who provide their address.
History of giving back
Founded in 2014, Sequoia Impact gives back. We partner with charities, volunteer, raise funds and champion a better future for people and communities in need.
Charities we’ve worked with
We host resume workshops and mentor at-risk youth
We donate overnight care packages for homeless children
We provide volunteer support and loving care for children (and their families) who face life-limiting health conditions
We create Mother’s Day gift bags for women seeking refuge from domestic violence
We support a village in India by fundraising, sending a team to help build a school and providing classroom supplies
We facilitate workshops that champion mental health for middle and high school students
Impact supporters speak
“I was so proud today to hear about Sequoia’s involvement in Out of Darkness. Suicide and suicide awareness are topics that people are shy, embarrassed, or even too ashamed to talk about. I love that Sequoia is helping to change that.”
“This cause and organization is very important to me personally and it really means so much to see Sequoia not only participate but sponsor the AFSP and the walks. Thank you!”
“I am grateful to work for a company that values and works to champion mental health and compassionate care. I lost my cousin to cancer last year and have found art to be very therapeutic in my grieving process. I created handmade cards representing our community partners and their missions. I hope that they bring as much joy to them as it did for me while creating them.”
“I just want to say how grateful we are to Sequoia for today’s excellent HR Thought Leadership: Building a Social Impact Program. Great insights, especially the importance of listening to your workers and having executive leadership engagement.”
Client referral impact
Sequoia takes pride in supporting people-first organizations and giving back to the communities where we live and work.
That’s why when you refer a contact to Sequoia, we’ll make a $500 donation to the Sequoia Impact Fund when they become a client. Your referrals are just one of the many ways you can join us and our partner charities in making a positive impact for social good.
